The Regional District of Nanaimo's new web portal is now online. Apply for building permits, check the status of applications, book inspections, submit complaints, all from the comfort of your home or mobile device.
The CityView Portal is a part of the Regional Distrct of Nanaimo's continuous service improvement plan. Watch for more updates in the near future.
Notice: Launch of New “Conditions” Feature for Building Permits Issued as of March 16, 2026
“Conditions” are requirements—such as submitting documentation or fulfilling a specified task— that must be completed before an inspection can be booked.
For permits issued on or after March 16, 2026, any permit that includes a condition requiring a BCLS (BC Land Survey) must now have the BCLS uploaded directly to the portal under the Conditions section, before the inspection can be booked.
Once the BCLS has been uploaded, the related inspection will automatically become available for booking.
Please note: that an inspection CAN NOT be booked on the portal, by phone or email until the "Condition" is complete.
